Perry E. Sheffield, MD, MPH, is a Professor in the Department of Environmental Medicine at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York City, a pediatrician, and an environmental health researcher. She co-directs the New York State Children’s Environmental Health Centers network—the only such state-based network in the United States—and the U.S. Federal Region 2 Pediatric Environmental Health Specialty Unit serving New Jersey, New York, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
