Children’s Environmental Health Research
The goal of the HEAT Lab is to provide high-quality evidence to inform policies that result in healthier youth, now and later.
There are two sides to our research. On one side, we identify the issues affecting the physical, mental, and social health of youth. On the other, we design and evaluate potential solutions to those issues. Our research extends to where youth live, work, and play including within their homes, schools, and communities. We examine environmental health topics through the lenses of social equity and climate change, and aim for solutions—often nature-based—that promote the health of people and the planet. In our action-oriented research, we are firm believers that protecting children’s health ultimately protects everyone’s health. Below, explore the different research areas of the HEAT Lab.
